Gottfried von Siebenthal (IV) was born in 1946 in his parents' house on Gstaadplatz. As a businessman in the family business for many years and as a local politician, he experienced the history of Gstaad and played a decisive role in shaping it. The local historian has been passionate about collecting old photos and stories from “his” village since he was a child. This resulted in three richly illustrated books about the history of Gstaad, which have been translated into several languages. Gottfried von Siebenthal and his wife Katharina Imhof from Liestal have four children and nine grandchildren.

Andrea von Siebenthal was born in Saanen in 1979 as the second child of Gottfried and Katharina von Siebenthal. She has a Masters in War Reporting and worked as a journalist and TV presenter before managing communications for an international humanitarian organization in Geneva for several years. Andrea von Siebenthal works today as a documentary filmmaker, communications consultant and translator. She has two adult daughters.
